Saved quotes and PDF

Switch it on

In WooCommerce > GaugeQuote Pro > Quotes:

  • Logged-in customers can save their options as a quote (My Account > Quotes, with a quote PDF).
  • A job that needs a manual quote can be sent as a request; you price it under WooCommerce > Quotes.
  • Keep the quoted price in the cart while the quote is valid (else today's price applies).
  • Quotes are valid for (days).
  • Quote number prefix.

GaugeQuote Pro sends no email. Customers see their quotes and your prices in My Account.

For customers

  • On the product page, a logged-in customer clicks Save as quote. The server prices it. Saving a quote adds nothing to the cart.
  • My Account > Quotes lists their quotes. Each quote has a page and a PDF. Only its owner can open them.
  • Add to cart from the quote keeps the quoted price while the quote is valid and the options, files, quantity, currency and tax setting are the same. The quantity is locked.

Requests for jobs that need a manual quote

  1. The customer sends the request. It shows "Waiting for the shop's price".
  2. In WooCommerce > Quotes, open the request. Download the files, then enter the total, the days it is valid and a note.
  3. The customer sees "Priced by the shop" and your note, and buys it at that price.

Quote PDF

The PDF shows your letterhead (logo, company, address, footer), the options, a sketch of the drawing or size, the price lines and the total. It uses standard PDF fonts for English and Western European text; other characters print as "?". The quote page in My Account shows every character.

Branding

In WooCommerce > GaugeQuote Pro > Branding, set the company name, address and contact lines, logo (JPEG or PNG works best in the PDF), colour and footer (for example registration and tax numbers, bank details or terms). Choose where your branding is used: job sheets, quote PDFs, or both. On quote PDFs the choice only controls the logo; the company name, address and footer always print.

Limits and clean-up

  • A customer keeps at most 50 open quotes.
  • Quotes that were not ordered and not touched for 180 days are deleted.
  • Quotes become "ordered" when the order is processing, completed or on hold.
