What this site collects

  • No cookies. Your theme, currency and billing choices are saved in your own browser (local storage) and are never sent to us.
  • No analytics or tracking.
  • No fonts, scripts or images loaded from other sites, except the checkout below.
  • No accounts and no newsletter.

Server logs

Our web host may keep standard server logs, such as IP address, time and page requested, to run and protect the site. The site runs on a server rented from Contabo GmbH in Germany, and these logs are deleted after 14 days.

Checkout

When you click a buy or trial button, the page loads the checkout of Freemius, Inc. from checkout.freemius.com. Freemius, Inc. is based in the United States. Freemius is our reseller and merchant of record. It handles your order, payment, invoice and tax, under its own privacy policy: https://freemius.com/privacy/. Nothing is loaded from Freemius until you click.

After a purchase, Freemius gives us the details we need to provide the licence and support, such as your name, email address and licence.

We keep buyer details while the licence is active and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting laws require. Freemius keeps its own records as the seller.

Legal basis

We use buyer details to provide the licence, updates and support (performance of a contract, GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)), to meet tax and accounting duties (legal obligation, Art. 6(1)(c)), and to protect the site and the service (legitimate interests, Art. 6(1)(f)).

The plugin

  • The free GaugeQuote plugin runs on your own site and sends nothing to us. It includes the Freemius SDK in anonymous mode: it sends nothing unless a site admin opts in on the Plugins screen. If an admin opts in, Freemius receives the admin's name and email address, the site's address and title, the WordPress, PHP and plugin versions, the site language and, unless switched off on the opt-in screen, the list of plugins and themes. An admin can opt out at any time.
  • GaugeQuote Pro connects to Freemius only to activate and check the licence, to start a trial and to look for updates. When a licence is activated or a trial is started, Freemius receives the licence key, the site address, and the WordPress, PHP and plugin versions; unless switched off on the activation screen, also the site title and language and the list of plugins and themes. The admin's name and email address are needed only when the key does not already name its owner.
  • Your customers' orders, files and quotes stay on your own server.

Your rights

You can ask what personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. You can also ask us to restrict or stop using your data, ask for a copy in a common format, and complain to your data protection authority. support@gaugequote.com
